ANGKOR (Cambodia)
Janurary.2010
Angkor is an area in northwestern Cambodia that was the center of the Khmer empire from the ninth to the thirteenth century. The temples of Angkor, many in semi-ruinous state, are truly wondrous, and visiting them can be a spiritual experience. We would need a lifetime to properly photograph all of Angkor, but given our limited time there, we visited and took pictures of the more well-known temples: Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm, Preah Khan, and other nearby temples including the ones in the ancient city of Angkor Thom. We decided to take all of the Angkor pictures in the Sepia color mode because it best express the mood of the place.
Like most Angkor visitors, we stayed in Siem Riep which is a nice charming small town with a very friendly population.
