Lisbon, Portugal
October 2010
In late July we visited and took pictures of Lisbon with a Panasonic Lumix ZS7 compact superzoom. We had a great time in Lisbon, which we found very charming, beautiful, and its people, Lisboetas, easy-going and friendly.
Lisbon has a rich mixture of old and new architecture and innumerable fantastic viewpoints making city exploration and cityscape photography a delightful experience.
For an afternoon, we rented a bike from BikeIberia, and made a nice bike/photo trip from central Lisbon to Belem along the Tejo River. We usually get around on foot but we found biking a great way to cover and enjoy more areas without rushing the photography experience.
For those who are comfortable with city biking and want to explore Lisbon on wheels, we highly recommend visiting BikeIberia for touring information and/or rentals. We found the owner and staff very friendly and helpful.
We also must mention the soulful Fado music, which can be heard live in clubs/restaurants in the Alfama area.
